The Menagerie at the Beach
Join in a presentation and discussion of how the fish communities of Long Island Sound have changed over the last 30 years. Penny Howell, Senior Fisheries Biologist CT DEEP Marine Fisheries Division will show the results of comprehensive surveys of the Sound which have catalogued over 145 species of fish which make up a dynamic menagerie reflecting tremendous productivity as well as shifting habitats.

Lighthouse Lecture Series Feb. 17
Join us for a presentation by Susan Tamulevich, Director of the New London Maritime Society 7 pm at the Guilford Free Library. Over the past four years, the New London Maritime Society has received ownership of three lighthouses: New London Harbor in 2010, Race Rock in 2013,
Ledge Light in 2014, and led an unsuccessful effort to win a fourth at auction: Little Gull in 2012 at the Guilford Free Library 7pm. NLMS executive director Susan Tamulevich will talk about the unusual variety lighthouses off New London, the responsibilities of lighthouse stewardship, and the Society’s annual lighthouse summer programming, including winning Yankee Magazine’s award for “Best Lighthouse Boat Tour’ and the restoration of Harbor ‘Pequot’ Light in 2014.
